Brief History: | Mainstays on the Western Massachusetts music scene since forming in early 1994, The Mitchells have persevered in the midst of the ever-rotating collection of acts and venues in the Pioneer Valley. The Mitchells' style, which can be hard to pin down, has developed from the more straight-ahead, pop/rock of earlier material such as "Five Minutes" and "Underwater", to more complex material like "Old Cartoons" and "Pre Fab", which focus more on multiple guitar lines over driving rhythms to reach common melodic themes. While releasing 6 recordings on their own independent label, Small Batch Records, the band has had the opportunity to share the stage with acts such as Buffalo Tom, Mark Robinson, Versus, Small Factory, and New Radiant Storm King. Singer/ guitarist Caleb Wetmore recently completed a tour of duty on guitar for Tizzy, and can currently also be seen playing with New Radiant Storm King. |
