Formed in 1986 and armed with a truckload of classic C&W, Rock n' Rockabilly and over an album's worth of originals, the Lonesome Brothers are the real thing.

Consisting of Jim Armenti (guitar, vocals), Ray Mason (bass, vocals) and Tom Shea on drums, they have not yet met a crowd they didn't like!

Jim has spent 20 years playing in roadhouse honky-tonks, VFW's and American Legions (4 sets a night - these guys are no one-set wings!). His "Down by the Water" was recently recorded by Cheri Knight (ex-Blood Oranges) on her solo LP "The Knitter." Then covered again by "Cry, Cry,Cry", a 1998 release on Razor and Tie records. Jim also plays clarinet, mandolin and guitar with KLEZAMIR, a western Massachusetts Klezmer band.

Ray was the bass player on "The Knitter" and tons of other recordings over the years and has been leading his own band for the last 15. He has released 4 CD's, at least 6 cassettes, and a single, and has appeared on numerous compilations throughout the U.S. and Europe. His last CD was released on WORMCO of Northampton,MA.

The Lonesomes have opened for Junior Brown and Carlene Carter and The J. Geils Band to name a few. They grew up listening to Dylan, Hank Sr., the Beatles, Buffalo Springfield, the Byrds, the Band Ö (you get the idea!) As one passerby said recently, "There's no one that don't like the Lonesome Brothers!"

No, seriously and all kidding aside-these guys never let up. They perform as two, three, four and the fabulous quintet, which includes Doug "Lefty" Beaumier on pedal steel and Jim Weeks-(sonic guru)-on guitar. This is no jam band folks. Every note counts and they use all the notes.
