Electric Blue and the Kozmik Truth is an ever-changing ensemble of musicians dedicated to the concept of truly soulful, cathartic musical endeavors. Their songs are meant to be seen and experienced as a journey of sorts, with each phase necessary to bring you to the next one...The whole shebang is deeply rooted in the BLUES, tinged with jazz, funk, bluegrass, reggae, and psychedelic rock and roll.

     The concept of EBKT was born way back in 1996 when Gary Phelps and Callie K. decided to embark on a new musical project. They took only two songs from their former project, "The Velvet Voodoo Dolls", and set about creating something unique.

I     t was a long, cold winter in Gary's parents' unheated barn, and they were armed with nothing but equipment, a four-track, and tons of ideas to keep them warm. They recorded day and night, from original tunes like "Hummin" to soul classics like Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine". The creative juices were flowing, and soon, they had enough material to approach some other musicians about making this dream a reality.

     The band has toured continuously throughout the Northeast as well as down the Atlantic coast. Their sound has been heard alongside nationally known acts such as Gov't Mule, JGB, Disco Biscuits, Jazz Mandolin Project, The Dickey Betts Band (of Allman Brothers fame), and have co-billed as well as jammed onstage with The Derek Trucks Band.
