Who Are We?
Dicey Riley is a unique high-energy
Celtic rock and roll band. We play an exciting mixture of traditional and
original songs drawn from Irish folk music, influenced by modern alternative,
punk, and classic electric rock. The band is based in the Northampton, MA, area

| About The Band… Dicey Riley was formed in 1998 as a pub band and has created a sensation thoughout Massachusetts and Connecticut with its unique "kick-ass Celtic" partying music. The band blends traditional Irish and Celtic folk music with original compositions and rock classics, performed in a high-energy, rowdy rock style that gets audiences clapping, stomping and singing along! |
| About The Diceys… John McLaughlin, lead vocals, drums. Attorney handling all types of litigation, especially telecommunications and land use/zoning. Former drummer and singer in several local bands, including the 1970s-80s all-original Zax, which was featured artist at many well-known venues, including Shaboo Inn (Willimantic, CT), Agora Ballroom/Stage West (West Hartford, CT), Hampton Beach (NH) Casino, Norwich (CT) Rose Arts Festivals, etc. “Dr Frank” Toscanini bagpipes. Chiropractor, originally from New York City, practices in East Longmeadow and Northampton, also plays bagpipes for the Manchester, CT, marching pipe band. Katherine First, fiddle. Teaches first grade at Smith campus school, where she trains teachers from Smith College, also plays traditional fiddle at sessions and plays most Thursdays at Bishop’s Lounge in Northampton. Michael Jennings, guitar. Has his own wallpaper and painting company, brings a rock influence, impossible to stump him on Beatles trivia. Danny Richards, bass, vocals. Youngest in the group, attending college for early childhood education and works in manufacturing. Previously lead singer and bassist for the punk trio The Howards (aptly named in honor of The Three Stooges). |
